Mike Epperson
CEO
Mike Epperson’s career in business began in healthcare over 20 years ago. After receiving his certification as a Board Certified Orthotist and Pedorthist, Mike started his orthotic and prosthetic practice in 1999 in Salt Lake City, Utah. After 11 years of strong growth and building the largest business in Utah, providing custom orthopedic appliances to hospitals as well as being the largest provider of custom lower extremity orthotics, he sold his business to a national company named Hanger Clinic in 2010. After the merger of the two companies, Mike continued to manage offices in St. George and Salt Lake City, growing the Utah market to be the most profitable network of clinics of the 750 locations that Hanger controlled in the United States. In the spring of 2014, Mike left Hanger to pursue other opportunities in real estate.
Mike has an entrepreneurial spirit, and while running his healthcare company, continued to invest and build other companies in the healthcare and real estate sectors.
In 2007, he began a real estate investment company named Epperson Investment Group. EIG acquired a variety of properties from single and multifamily rentals to commercial building assets in the Salt Lake Valley. Mike continues to manage this investment group.
Having invested in multiple startup companies while building and selling other companies the last 20 years, the passion that Mike has learned from other entrepreneurs and mentors has led him to start another company called Business 2U. Mike wants to share stories about individuals who are passionate about building their own business or enterprise. However, the focus of sharing a story is more about the individual than it is about the business. Every entrepreneur has a story about sacrifice, hardship, disappointment, failure, overcoming adversity and, hopefully, success. Not every individual succeeds, but the story lies in the dreams and desires that those who need to be their own boss, and the calculated risks they take in order to triumph as an entrepreneur.
Mike has been involved in many civic activities over the years, which include serving as a past East Millcreek Community council member, a volunteer Skyline youth football coach, and continuing his hobby as a current high school tennis coach at Olympus. Mike is affiliated with various real estate boards and is a long-time member of the Academy of Finance Board with the Granite School District.
